                                                                                                      Counselling

Counselling provides you with a supportive, confidential and safe environment where you will be valued and listened to in a respectful and non-judgmental way. An effective form of therapy, it can help you make positive changes to your life and deal with any issues that may feel overwhelming or are causing you emotional pain, unhappiness or stress. It can help you explore difficult issues and gain more insight into understanding yourself and your problems whilst finding solutions that are right for you.

I am a Person-Centred counsellor and clinical supervisor working with an integrative approach (using techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Attachment Theory and Solution Focused Brief Therapy) to offer support in the best way for you. I have the extensive working knowledge and experience you need me to have in counselling a wide range of issues including:

  • Low mood and lack of motivation

  • Depression

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

  • Stress

  • Self-harm

  • Suicidal thoughts (and those affected by suicide)

  • Trauma

  • Abuse

I believe that everyone has the ability to reach their unique, full potential and lead a fulfilling life in a way that is right for them.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation (on the phone or in person) when we can discuss your current needs and expectations from counselling. It is also an ideal opportunity to answer any queries you may have. Full sessions are usually once a week to offer consistency and a steady pace for therapeutic progress, however this can vary depending on individual situations. We can discuss and jointly agree this at any stage, your interests will always be at the centre of every decision.

                                                                                                  Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for student and qualified counsellors as well as those in other disciplines. I work with theories of integrative and person-centred supervision as well as other models such as Shohet and Hawkins' 7 eyed Model. This supports the supervisee by looking at their own systems, self-care and ways of working, helping them to maintain ethical and safe practice while ultimately ensuring the needs of the client are met.

I appreciate how important my own supervision has been to me, both personally and professionally, throughout my counselling career and now enjoy having the opportunity to support others in the same way.

I also provide invaluable case supervision for Designated Safeguarding Leads due to my prior extensive working knowledge and experience in frontline roles within statutory agencies.
