Mental Health Awareness & Safeguarding Training

Through over 10 years of working as a frontline safeguarding practitioner in demanding roles, I am passionate about training fellow professionals, enabling them to enhance their existing good practice and strive to be the best they can be. This will benefit them personally and professionally by gaining the necessary skills needed in order to provide the very best service to those at risk of, or affected by harm or abuse and who deserve nothing but the best safeguarding available in order to protect and support them.

After working for, and with, statutory and voluntary agencies, many of whom have a shared goal but very different remits and approaches, I have experienced first-hand the training needs necessary for staff to not only understand the theory but also to develop the invaluable knowledge and  skills required to then put that into safe practice. My training modules are designed very much with this in mind along with showing consideration for your time and budget in an ethical and efficient manner at all times. I also provide consultancy to agencies who may require me to manage and/or enhance existing or future service provision and provide invaluable supervision for Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Mental Health Awareness & Wellbeing training is for anyone who wants to improve their sense of wellbeing and resilience. The programme is tailored to the needs of the delegates and generally covers topics such as anxiety, low mood, self-harm, coping strategies, learning how to regain a sense of control and maintain good mental health. It is immensely popular and in demand in schools (for parents, staff and students) a wide range of private businesses and statutory sector agencies, all of whom are benefitting from these extremely informative and useful training sessions.

                                                                      Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy

I will soon be offering Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy. Working with beautifully intelligent and intuitive horses creates a deeper level of understanding about our emotions, interactions and behaviour. Proven to be especially beneficial for trauma and for those looking to improve teamwork and leadership skills. Watch this space for further details!

Based in the East Midlands, and also delivering training further afield (to agencies including Housing, Health, Education, Emergency Services, Social Services, Local Authority, Probation, Corporate and Voluntary sectors), I pride myself on providing accurate, innovative and inspirational training designed to exceed your expectations and motivate people to realize their full potential. As your trainer I am friendly and down to earth with an approachable nature and great sense of humour. I am very aware of the sensitivity that safeguarding issues and training demand, therefore I always ensure I deliver it in an honest, genuine and respectful way whilst maintaining confidentiality and placing the needs of the delegates at the core of each session.

By the very nature of the professions you and your staff have chosen to work in, you already share my passion and drive to ensure the very best training is provided to everyone who has a duty of care to protect the most vulnerable adults and children in our society. By working together this is an achievable vision.
