About me

 

I am a Person-Centred counsellor working with an integrative approach (using techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Solution Focused Brief Therapy) to support each client in the best way for them. I have experience of counselling a wide range of issues including low self-esteem, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma and abuse. I believe that everyone has the ability to reach their unique, full potential and lead a fulfilling life in a way that is right for them.

 

My academic counselling qualifications and further training include:

  • Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling (Level 5)
  • Certificate in Advanced Counselling Skills
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (BACP endorsed)
  • Mental health consequences of childhood sexual abuse
  • The Rewind Technique – for treatment of Trauma and PTS /PTSD (approved by the British Psychological Society)

 

I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor, a registered member of the governing body of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am on the accredited register of the Professional Standards Agency. I receive regular supervision to ensure quality of practice at all times.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition to my counselling experience, my working background is within statutory agencies in the specialist areas of domestic and sexual abuse, rape, honour based violence, forced marriage and child protection.
